OOO NPP Tasma is the only enterprise in Russia and the CIS that produces light-sensitive film materials, as well as a manufacturer of multilayer barrier polymer films for packaging. Tasma radiographic and photographic films are widely used in industry for non-destructive testing and for image capture, and packaging films under the Mealguard brand are used by food industry enterprises.

The Tasma Group of Companies traces its history back to 1933, when the Film Factory No. 8 was founded in Kazan (since 1974 it has been given the modern name Tasma).
During the Great Patriotic War, it was the only enterprise providing the front and rear with films, aerial films, photographic papers. In 1944 Film Factory # 8 was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor.
In the post-war period, the enterprises of the Tasma Group of Companies mastered the technologies for the production of color cinematographic materials, medical films, films for holography, microfilming, printing industry, as well as recording and aerial films for aviation and space.
Currently, Tasma Group:
Possesses unique competencies, has its own technology and a full cycle production (the only one in Russia and the CIS) of radiographic technical films for non-destructive testing.
Tasma is the only manufacturer of aerial films for the Russian Aerospace Forces, aerospace films, anti-fog films and other special-purpose films.
The consumers of Tasma products are the leading enterprises of the oil and gas, machine building, shipbuilding, aviation, rocket and space, nuclear industries, the Ministry of Defense of Russia, enterprises of the defense industry and state corporations (UAC, UEC, USC), as well as large meat processing, fish processing, cheese-making enterprises and food retail chains in Russia and neighboring countries.
